Bank of America recently purchased the parcel of land between 5th and 6th Street next to the Bobcats Arena. The proposed plan is to construct a parking deck with street level retail. The project will be similar to the 7th St Station which is home to Brixx Pizza, Aquavina, and Reid’s. No timeline for construction has been released. |

After much anticipation and rumors galore, the tenants of the street level retail space in Avenue have been announced. This announcement was first released to tenants of Avenue Uptown just last week. There will be two tenants in the street level retail space which will be occupied by a restaurant and an urban market. |

While Charlotte is defying the nationally declining real estate market, the Carolina Multiple Listing Services have implemented a new policy that is the most substantial change that Charlotte has ever seen. This new policy is to no longer advertise the exact size of homes but to advertise homes as falling in a range of sizes. |

Recently, Radon Gas was discovered in Latta Pavilion in Dilworth. This news was reported by the Charlotte Business Journal and has created quite a stir. Latta Pavilion and 1315 East were both developed by Grubb Properties who sits at the center of this controversy. In response to the publicity in the papers about the development, Grubb released a reaction to the reports about the Radon. |

The newest mixed-use development in the Uptown, called The Epicenter, will soon begin opening its doors for business. This city block sized development sits in the heart of the Uptown on College St between Trade and 4th St on the site of the former Convention Center. This latest development will eventually feature a condo, a boutique hotel, shopping, restaurants, a cinema, and bowling alley. North End Square Condominium is located on the corner of Statesville Ave and Oaklawn just a half-mile outside of the Uptown in the Greenville neighborhood. This latest development features condos and townhomes in this latest in-fill initiative within a few short blocks of the NC Music Factory. |

A surprising incident occurred when Beazer announced they would be pulling out of the Charlotte market. Not an eventual gradual withdraw but an immediate ceasing of operations. Nearly all employees were fired immediately. All projects not currently under construction would be abandoned. Homes under construction would be completed, but all new sales were to cease. |
