| Bank of America Stadium The Bank of America Stadium is the home of the Carolina Pathers. The Carolina Panthers is Charlotte's NFL team. The first game played in the stadium was on September 14, 1996. The stadium has a capacity of 73,298 and is used primarily for football. Other events have been held at the stadium like a Rolling Stones concert and a Billy Graham crusade. The college football bowl called the Meineke Car Care Bowl is held at the Bank of America Stadium each year and is a note-worthy event each year in Charlotte. Third Ward Baseball Park A private and public sector land-swap will bring the Charlotte Knights into the Uptown in a new baseball park that is scheduled to open in 2009. The Charlotte Knights are a AAA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The Knights currently play in Fort Mill, SC and anticipate a surge in attendence when this affordable entertianment option becomes readily available to families and businesses in the center of the city. |

| Johnson and Wales Johnson and Wales is a private career oriented university that specializes in hospitality, culinary arts, and business. Johnson and Wales has produced such notable chefs as Emeril Lagasse and Tyler Florence. The Charlotte campus of JWU opened in 2004 and currently enrolls over 2,500 students in the Uptown. JWUs campus is located in the Gateway Village area of Third Ward with street level cooking class rooms open to pedestrian spectators.
