The Harris Development Group has recently announced plans to develop a mixed-use site on South Blvd in the South End. The site, which is nearly 2.5 acres, is located directly on South Boulevard bordering The Arlington. The as of yet unnamed development located at 1200 South Boulevard will consist of +/- 200,000sf of office space, 150-200 room boutique hotel, +/- 40,000sf of retail, and possibly a residential component as well. A 1,000 parking space garage will provide parking for this massive development that will certainly contain more dining opportunities as well. The site will likely consist of 2-3 towers and will likely be <15 stories tall. The site is within a block of the Carson St light rail stop which will be a major draw for commuters. The site will require some realigning of traffic flow on South Blvd. Currently South Blvd is scarcely populated until The Arlington and traffic flows quickly. The new development will further connect the South End to the Uptown and will serve to fill in some “dead space” in between the two. More details will be coming in the following months. |
